Chicago Edges Yanks 3-2

For most of the game yesterday in Chicago between the Yankees and White Sox a pitcher's duel took center stage. Andy Pettitte pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing only 1 earned run...Floyd, for the Chisox pitched 7 2/3 innings allowing only 1 earned run...

Yet neither pitcher factored in the decision...

It all came down to the 9th inning...With 2 outs in the top of the 9th Nick Swisher hit a game-tying home run for the Yanks, but then in the bottom of the 9th Dewayne Wise won it for the Sox on a walk-off single...

The Yanks drop the first of a 4 game series against the Chisox by the score of 3-2...

Additional Notes:

Johnny Damon was the only Yankee to collect 2 hits...

Phil Hughes gave up a run...was that the first run he gave up since pitching in relief?

Today, Sergio Mitre will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!

ESPN.com has Thursday's box score.
