Wednesday night in the Bronx the Yankees lost to a National's rookie named John Lannan who, quite simply, had them mystified...
In 8 1/3 innings Lannan only allowed 2 earned runs on only 4 hits against the vaunted Bombers...
With the win, the Nationals even up the series at 1 apiece...
Additional Notes:
Chien-Ming Wang's performance was encouraging in that it was an improvement over his last start, but by no means was it great...Wang lasted 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits...hopefully he'll keep improving...
Johnny Damon was the only Yankee to have 2 hits--including a home run....Teixeira and Cano had a hit apiece...everyone else went hitless...
Hughes, Coke and Aceves combined for 4 scoreless innings of relief...
Tomorrow, Joba Chamberlain takes the hill...
Let's Go Yanks!
