After rallying from a 4-0 deficit and tying the score 4-4, the Yanks stumbled in the 9th when the relief core of Phil Coke and Dave Robertson were unable to hold off the Tribe...
With runners on 1st and 2nd, Johnny Peralta smacked a single down the line just past the reach of Alex Rodriguez, and the Indians won 5-4...
The Yanks could still win the series if they prevail tomorrow...
Additional Notes:
Phil Hughes didn't have his best stuff, but managed to make it through 5 innings, with 6 K's while giving up 4 runs...his most difficult inning was the 3rd when he surrendered 3 of those 4 runs...
Chien-Ming Wang was stellar in relief, tossing 3 scoreless innings...it was a very encouraging effort for Wang who's starting to look like his old self again...
Mark Teixeira led the offense for the Yanks...He hit a 2-run home run and a 2-run double to account for all 4 Yankee runs...
Tomorrow, Joba Chamberlain takes the hill...
