Joba Cruises In Cleveland

Joba Chamberlain had one of the best starts of his young career in Cleveland Monday night as he limited the Indians to only 2 runs over 8 innings of work, as the Yanks beat the Tribe by a score of 5-2...

In addition to allowing just 2 runs, Chamberlain struck out 5 while walking 2, and surrendered just 4 hits, looking very much the ace starter he's projected to be...

With the win, Chamberlain ran his record to 3-1....

Additional Notes:

The game was tied 1-1 till the 7th when the Yankees offense came to life scoring 4 runs in the frame...Nick Swisher had a 2-rbi double and 2-rbi single by Alex Rodriguez...

Mariano Rivera pitched the 9th and collected his 11th save of the season...

The Yankees also broke the major league record by a team for most consecutive games without committing an error...This was their 18th game in a row where their defense was perfect...can they make it 19 tomorrow?

Tomorrow the Yanks take on the Texas Rangers in the Bronx...A.J. Burnett will take the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!
