In Oakland last night, Chien-Ming Wang pitched better than he had in over a month. Not coincidentally he picked up his first win in that same time period as well. In 7 1/3 innings of work he managed to hold the A's offense to just one run...
Wang, who-when he's throwing well-typically gets a lot of ground ball outs, managed to get the opposition to ground out into 4 double plays-further evidence that the old Wang is back!
Additional Notes:
The offense didn't produce a lot-just 3 runs-but luckily, given the performance by Wang, they didn't have to...Melky Cabrera had the only home run for either side...
Mariano Rivera pitched a scoreless 9th to pick up his 17 save of the year, and-more importantly-it represented a nice rebound after his struggles against KC...
Tonight Darrell Rasner pitches-let's hope for another quality start!
GO YANKS!!!!
