Mo, Say It Ain't So!

For the second time in 3 days Mariano Rivera did something we're not accustomed to seeing around here-he gave up a home run in the 9th inning...

On Saturday with the game tied 10-10 he surrendered a solo shot to David DeJesus that put Kansas City ahead. Fortunately for Mo, the offense picked him up that day as the Yankees came back and won the game in the bottom of the 9th.

Today, no such luck...

With the score tied 2-2, Jose Guillen greeted Mo with a solo shot to left to put KC ahead for good...

It's hard to believe it when Mo gives up 1 home run, so it's almost impossible to fathom that he's given up 2 in 3 days-both in the 9th inning...

But, should we be worried? I don't think so. Every once in a while even Mo lapses into "mere mortal" status-this is just one of those times. He'll be back to being superhuman soon enough-he always does!

Additional Notes:

Alex Rodriguez provided the only real offense the Yankees had on the afternoon with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 7th...

It's a shame Moose couldn't have picked up his 10th win of the season today-he certainly deserved it. He pitched 8 innings and allowed only 2 runs...

Tomorrow the Yanks play the A's in Oakland...We need Chien-Ming Wang to start pitching the way he did earlier in the season...

GO YANKS!!!!
