Davies Shuts Down Yankee Offense

After the most uplifting and improbable victory of the year, the Yankees quickly came back down to Earth on Friday night when Royals pitcher Kyle Davies shut down their offense for nearly 7 innings...

The only positive note for the Yankees in the 2-1 loss to the Royals on Friday night, was the performance of hard luck loser Darrell Rasner. Rasner threw 8 full innings in which he allowed only 2 runs...

Rasner continues to earn respect...

He pitched well enough to win-too bad the Yankee offense let him down...

Additional Notes:

The Yankees left runners in scoring position all night-hard to win games when you do that...

The Yanks were also victims of a terrible umpiring call when, in the bottom of the 8th Jason Giambi was called out trying to check his swing...The replay clearly showed it was a checked swing...

Tomorrow Pettitte pitches and let's hope he's got a quality start in him so we won't have to tax the bullpen-we'll need them Sunday when Joba starts...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!
