Wang = Win²

So far this season, the Yankees have been unable to find the formula for winning consistently, except of course on days when Chien-Ming Wang takes the hill. On those days, the Yankees invariably win. Friday night that formula proved successful once again as the 28 year old ace led the Yankees to 5-1 victory over the Mariners.

Wang pitched 6 strong innings allowing only 3 hits and 1 run en route to his 6th victory of the season against no defeats....he also recorded 5 strikeouts while surrendering only 2 walks in the effort...

Yankee offense gave him all the run support he would need courtesy of a run-scoring single in the first by Hideki Matsui and 2-run Melky Cabrera double in the second...The Yankees added 2 additional runs in the 8th for good measure...

Additional Notes:

Kyle Farnsworth pitched an impressive 7th inning, striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced...is it a sign that he can be trusted in late innings? Still too early to tell in my opinion, but it does seem like he's improving...do this 3 times in a row and you'll make a believer out of me!

Joba pitched a scoreless 8th and Mo, a scoreless 9th...

It was good to see Bobby Murcer back in the broadcast booth-all the best Bobby!

Tomorrow we'll see if Moose can give us another quality start-my gut says he will!

GO YANKS!
