More Of The Same From Kennedy, Yankee Offense

Whatever Ian Kennedy worked on during his stint in the minor leagues over the last couple of weeks, it certainly didn't pay dividends on Thursday afternoon in Tampa. 5 runs allowed in 5 innings of work is pretty much what you'd expect from him based on his previous major league outings this year-unfortunately, that kind of performance is not what the Yankees were hoping for...

And as ineffective as Kennedy was, the Yankee offense was worse, continuing for the 4th straight day to be unable to produce more than 2 runs in a game...The Yankees have scored a grand total of 6 runs in 39 innings against Tampa in this series...

Granted, the Rays' pitching has been good, but this is ridiculous-these are the New York Yankees after all, and even without A-Rod and Posada, there's enough talent on the club that you'd think they could score more runs than 6 in a 4 game series!

You simply cannot win games with that kind of offensive output....

Additional Notes:

Matsui and Abreu didn't start...they were both used in pinch hitting situations late in the game...I'm not sure why Girardi is resting his best hitters during an offensive drought...

Hawkins, Veras and Ramirez were flawless in relief...

SUBWAY SERIES BEGINS TOMORROW NIGHT!

Yanks have to turn it around against the Mets...it won't be easy against Santana...Yanks will counter with Rasner who has won his last 2 starts...

LET'S GO YANKS!!!!!
