Another Stinger

Chien-Ming Wang pitched a strong 7 innings allowing only one run...Hideki Matsui hit a clutch homerun in the 9th to tie the score at 1-1...

But neither of those efforts translated to a Yankee win...

The game went to the Rays when Dave Gross hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th off of Mariano Rivera...

But although the box score says Rivera lost it, the real culprit was the Yankee offense...twice the Yankees had a runner on third base-once with one out-and failed to bring him home...

The offense over these two games in Tampa has been abysmal...there really is no better way to describe it...

Additional Notes:

Mo finally gave up a run...it had to happen eventually...

It's hard to see what Girardi can do to jump start this offense...

At least the Red Sox lost!!!!!

We need Mussina to pitch well tomorrow...and hopefully the Yankee offense will show up...
