Wang On The Warpath

After suffering 2 straight defeats to the Cleveland Indians, the Yankees on Sunday turned to Chien-Ming Wang for some much-needed help. Warrior Wang was more than up to the task, leading the Yankees to a 1-0 victory over the Tribe. Taking to the warpath for a full 7 innings, Wang allowed only 4 hits and 2 walks on an afternoon that also saw him chalk up an impressive 9K's...

Joba relieved in the 8th, making short work of the 3 hitters he faced, while Mariano Rivera, true to form, shut the door in the 9th to pick up the save...

One swing of the bat determined this one-luckily it was a Yankee bat! In the 5th inning Melky Cabrera belted a solo home run to left field, off hard luck loser C.C. Sabathia-it was all the offense the Yankees would need to win this one...

Other notes:

It remains to be seen how long Posada will be out...what moves will be made? Molina I think will do a fine job behind the plate-his offense however can't possibly compensate for Jorge's, but my prediction is that he'll hit better than expected and even provide the occasional clutch hit...players on this team will just have to step up...a couple of years ago we went through this with Matsui and Sheffield-we got through it then, we'll get through it now!

Tomorrow night we'll see if Moose can repeat or at least come close to his previous start-that would be welcome news indeed!

GO YANKS!
