Yankees Win An ALDS Classic In The Bronx

With 15 walk-off wins in the regular season, you'd expect there might be some of that kind of magic in the postseason--and you'd be right!

Friday night, in the bottom of the 11th, Mark Teixeira hit a solo home run to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Yankees 4-3 over the Minnesota Twins, giving the Yanks a commanding 2-0 lead in the ALDS...

But that storybook ending wouldn't have been possible if Alex Rodriguez hadn't provided high drama in the 9th inning when he tied the game with a 2 run home run...

Additional Notes:

A.J. Burnett had some control issues but nonetheless pitched well enough to allow only 1 run over 6 innings of work...

Phil Hughes uncharacteristically gave up 2 earned runs in the 8th...the rest of the pen, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Coke, Mariano Rivera, Alfredo Aceves, Damaso Marte and Dave Robertson did not allow a run although there were some rocky spots...

Tommorow the Yanks have the day off...Game 3 will be played in the Metrodome in Minnesota on Sunday night...Andy Pettitte will be on the hill...

The Yankees clinch with one more win!

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!

ESPN.com has the box score for Game 2 of the ALDS.
