Yankees Win Again, Lead ALCS 2-0!

Saturday night's ALCS game in the Bronx was one for the ages--a 13 inning nail biter that lasted over 5 hours and ended with yet another dramatic walk-off win for the Yanks...

With the score tied 3-3, Jerry Hairston Jr. led off the bottom of the 13th with a pinch hit single...then, with one out, Melky Cabrera grounded out to Maicer Izturis, but Izturis trying to get a force out at 2nd, threw the ball away...Chone Figgins, backing up the throw, bobbled it and Hairston was able to scored the winning run!

But that magical ending would have been impossible without Alex Rodriguez's dramatic 10th inning home run, that at the time, tied the game 3-3...

A terrific win for the Bombers who now have a 2-0 lead in the ALCS!

Additional Notes:

A.J. Burnett pitched well, allowing only 2 earned runs on 3 hits in 6 1/3 innings of work...

The bullpen too was outstanding...Phil Coke, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, Mariano Rivera, Damaso Marte and Mariano Rivera did not allow a run... The only reliever who allowed a run was Alfredo Aceves, but A-Rod bailed him out...And Mo's 2 1/3 scoreless innings were key...

Johnny Damon and Melky Cabrera had 2 hits each...

Today the Yanks are off...Tomorrow, Game 3 of the ALCS will be played in Anaheim...Andy Pettitte will be on the hill for the Yankees...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!
