Saturday afternoon in Chicago, the Yankees were looking to A.J. Burnett to continue the success of his last several starts....
Instead, they got one of his worse starts of the season...he pitched only 4 2/3 innings allowing 7 earned runs on 10 hits...6 of the runs he surrendered in the 2nd inning...
The Yankees went on to drop this one 14-4...
They have to win today just to avoid being swept by the Chisox...
Additional Notes:
The bullpen let the Yankees down too yesterday--in particular Phil Coke who, in just 1/3 of an inning gave up 6 earned runs on 4 hits...Only Robertson and Melancon were not scored upon--each pitching just 2/3 of an inning...
Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira each had 2 hits--Teixeira had 2 rbi...Alex Rodriguez had 3 hits...Jerry Hairston picked up his first hit in Pinstripes...
Today, CC Sabathia will be on the hill...
Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
