A Bronx Classic

In what was perhaps the best game of the year for the Yanks, Alex Rodriguez hit a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 15th to break a 0-0 score and lead them over the Boston Red Sox 2-0...

The pitching in this one was, in a word, remarkable...Starters A.J. Burnett and Josh Beckett were locked in a pitcher's duel--as were both bullpens...

Again, an amazing game--you just had to see this one...

Additional Notes:

Burnett pitched 7 2/3 innings allowing only 1 hit and no runs...an ace like performance for sure...

Impressive effort by the Yankees bullpen too...Phil Hughes (1/3 of an inning), Mariano Rivera (1), Alfredo Aceves (3), Phil Coke (2) and Brian Bruney (1) combined for 7 1/3 innings of scoreless relief....

Alex Rodriguez, Hideki Matsui, Jorge Posada and Robinson Cano had 2 hits each...

Today, CC Sabathia will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!

ESPN.com has Friday's box score.
