The Bronx Bombers Make A Statement

Prior to Friday night's game against the Red Sox, the Yankees had lost 8 straight to their beantown rivals...

But all that changed last night in the Bronx as the New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox by a score of 13-6...

It wasn't Joba's best game, but thankfully the Yankees' offense provided more than enough firepower to offset a lackluster start...

For the Yankees, it was the perfect way to begin the 4 game series against the Red Sox...

Additional Notes:

The Yankees had 18 hits and everyone in the starting lineup had at least one...Johnny Damon, Mark Teixeira and Jorge Posada each had 3 hits...Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher and Melky Cabrera each had 2 hits...

The Yanks also belted 4 home runs...1 each by Damon, Cabrera, Posada and Teixeira...

Joba surrendered 4 runs in 5 innings and had control problems...relievers Dave Robertson, Phil Coke and Mark Melancon picked up the slack tossing a combined 3 scoreless innings...

Tomorrow A.J. Burnett will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
