Jeter, Matsui, Lead Yanks Past Blue Birds

The Yankees overcame a 4 run deficit on Sunday to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in the Bronx...

Trailing 8-4 in the bottom of the 4th, Hideki Matsui hit a 3-run home run to cut the lead 8-7...In the 5th, Derek Jeter homered to put the Yankees ahead for good...

This is the third win in a row for the Yankees over the Blue Jays...Tomorrow they go for the sweep...

Additional Notes:

Joba didn't have it today--he pitched only 3 2/3 innings giving up 3 earned runs and 9 hits--but fortunately, Alfredo Aceves did...he pitched 4 innings of scoreless ball--from the 6th inning through to the 9th--that was critical to the Yankees victory...

Jorge Posada and Derek Jeter had 4 hits apiece--Posada had 3 rbis...

Tomorrow, Andy Pettitte will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
