Angels Sweep Yanks

Twice on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, the Angels killed a Yankees rally by turning a key double play...

In the 7th, Alex Rodriguez hit into a double play with the bases loaded to end the inning--only one run scored that inning...

In the 8th, Nick Swisher hit into a double play to end the inning...2 runs scored in that inning...

Who knows how many runs would have scored if either of those double plays could have been avoided...

Instead, the Yankees couldn't quite catch up to the Angels on Sunday and ended up losing 5-4...

The Yankees got swept by the Angels in Anaheim...

Not CC's best today...he pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs on 9 hits...

Phil Hughes relieved and pitched well, as usual...

Derek Jeter and Melky Cabrera had 2 hits apiece...Jorge Posada had 2 rbi's...

The Yankees are off till Friday now because of the All-Break...Hopefully they can resume their winning ways against the Tigers in the Bronx...
