Another Baby Bomber Goes Bust

One of these days a Yankee starter is going to turn in a quality performance, but it seems unlikely it's going to come from one of the young guns anytime soon. Tonight, Ian Kennedy proved, yet again that he's not quite ready for prime time...

Kennedy had trouble finding the plate tonight, and when he did find it, he was hit hard by the O's.The question is, how long will Joe keep putting him out there? There are limits to patience, and I know it's early, but one thing is clear-4 runs and 5 walks in less than 3 innings of work will not be tolerated for much longer-especially not here in the Big Apple!

Now, to the offense...don't get me started...got shut out 6-0 tonight...only managed 2 runs in the last 18 innings. 2 runs in the last 18 innings?!!!

Is there any chance of getting a case of bats over to Yankee Stadium so they can be blessed by the Pope tomorrow?

GO YANKS!

Can’t have this go on much longer - both the fans and the manager (did you notice Gerardi’s last visit to the mound before pulling Kennedy?) are losing patience with Kennedy & Hughes. People expected some growing pains, but no one expected them to be this bad - and they have been AWFUL!! I say let’s give em another 1 - 2 starts more and if things don’t improve we have to try something else. Problem is, what are the other options? Definitely Joba for one - I know he’s great in the bullpen, but what good is that if your starting pitching never gets you there! Aside from Joba, not sure who else - maybe Olendorf (he looked pretty good last night), and what the hell ever happened to Humberto Sanchez? He was supposed to be the jewel of the Gary Sheffield trade - last I heard, he was having surgery, but that was over a year ago. We have to do something - Red Sox are already 3 games in first. And 3 games can quickly become 6, then before you know it, we’re looking up at them all season long like last year!

Yeah, getting Humberto Sanchez up here would be great! Looks like he's still recovering from Tommy John Surgery and won't be available till the end of July though.

Agree that we can't let Boston get a big lead on us. It'll be interesting to see how much patience Girardi shows.
