Yanks Pound The Braves 11-7

Thursday night in Atlanta, the Yankees brought out their heavy artillery in defeating the Braves 11 to 7--good thing too, because Andy Pettitte was not at his best...

The Yankees offense produced 16 hits on the night including an Alex Rodriguez home run as they took the series from the Braves 2 games to 1...

Additional Notes:

Derek Jeter had 4 hits, Johnny Damon had 3...Alex Rodriguez had 3 hits as well including a home run...both Damon and A-Rod had 4 rbi's apiece...

Pettitte only lasted 3 2/3 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits...

Alfredo Aceves relieved Pettitte and managed to toss 2 1/3 scoreless innings...

Tomorrow, the Yankees play the Mets at Citi Field...CC Sabathia will be on the hill...
