For the 3rd consecutive game, the New York Yankees have won on a walk-off hit. Friday, Melky had a walk-off single. Yesterday, Alex Rodriguez hit a walk-off home run in the 11th.
Today, it was Johnny Damon's turn. In the bottom of the 10th he belted a home run to right field to lift the Yankees 3-2 over the Twins!
3 walk-offs in a row--how often do you see that? It's starting to become business as usual in the Bronx...
Only a team with heart can deliver that!
Additional Notes:
Down 2-0 in the 7th the Yanks staged yet another comeback...Alex Rodriguez hit a home run to cut the lead 2-1...then, Hideki Matsui doubled, was sacrificed over to 3rd by Nick Swisher, and scored the tying run on a Melky Cabrera sacrifice fly...
A.J. Burnett gave up only 2 runs on 6 2/3 innings keeping things close, allowing for the Yankee comeback...
The bullpen--Tomko, Mo, and Aceves in particular--did their jobs in relief, keeping the Twins scoreless...Albaladejo was effective to the one hitter he faced in the 7th, but got into trouble in the 8th...fortunately, he was bailed out by Tomko...
Tomorrow the Yanks go for the sweep...Andy Pettitte will take the hill...
Let's Go Yanks!
