If Hideki Matsui got nothing else for his birthday yesterday, the one present he managed to give himself, made up for it-a grand slam in the 6th inning to catapult the Yankees 4-1 over the Oakland A's...
As happy as Matsui must have been, Andy Pettitte was probably happier. If not for that grand slam, his 8 innings of 1 run ball might have been for naught. He could just have easily lost the game 1-o instead of winning it 4-1...
Additional Notes:
It was a nice rebound for Pettitte after that forgettable 10 run performance against the Royals...
Mo picked up his 18th save of the year!
Tonight Joba pitches-he's looking to throw 90-95 pitches...let's hope he can pitch into the 6th at least...
Go Yanks!!!!
