Yankees Moving Heaven And Earth

Talk about out of this world...Looks like the ceremonial first pitch before tonight's Yankees-Red Sox game is going to be thrown in space-not the space between the pitcher's mound and home plate-Outer Space!

Via The NY Daily News:

"Forget The Rocket. A real astronaut will throw the first pitch at Wednesday night's Yankee game.

NASA astronaut Dr. Garrett Reisman will throw the ceremonial pitch from the International Space Station during Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Broadcast on the stadium's JumboTron screens, it will be the first ceremonial first pitch in Yankee history thrown from space."

Last week they unearthed Ortiz's T-shirt, to thwart a curse...This week they're throwing out a first pitch among the stars...Sunday, His Holiness the Pope is saying mass at the stadium...

Is this confluence of cosmic events just happenstance or does it portend something else? A Yankee World Championship perhaps? That would be nice!

Hey, Yankee brass, while you're at it with all this cosmic wrangling, don't forget to get the Pope's blessing on the New Yankee Stadium!

GO YANKS!
