Brian Bruney, Jorge Posada, Alex Rodirguez-now Phil Hughes-the disabled list seems to be growing daily in Yankee Land. And now that one full month is in the books, I think it's safe to say you can add one more to that list-the Yankee offense.
Seriously, why is it so unhealthy? You can say it's because they've recently lost two key run producers in Jorge and A-Rod, but then how do you explain the fact that it's been anemic the entire season? Truth is, there are plenty of players in the lineup whose bodies are healthy but whose run production is not. Cano, Giambi anyone? This is still a good lineup, unfortunately it's running a temperature-COLD!
Once again Wednesday night the Yankee offense looked like it required an IV stat....After a productive 1st inninig where the Yankees scored 2 runs on 3 hits to take an early 2-0 lead, the offense flat lined the rest of the way managing only 2 additional hits, en route to a 6-2 loss against the Tigers.
Let's hope the offense comes off the DL soon...Paging Dr. Long!
Additional Notes:
This was Pettitte's 2nd straight loss...both times he got into trouble in the 5th...Placido Polanco hit 2 home runs...that's right, 2! Must be channeling Ruth or something...
Ian Kennedy goes tomorrow night...if there was ever a time to step up it's now!
GO YANKS!
