The Yankees ended their regular season yesterday in impressive fashion, scoring 10 runs in the 6th inning on their way to defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 10-2...
7 of the 10 runs came courtesy of Alex Rodriguez, who hit a 3-run shot and then a grand slam--all in the same inning...a remarkable accomplishment even for a player of his caliber--in fact, the 7 rbi in one inning by one player is an American league record!
Additional Notes:
A.J. Burnett pitched 5 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits...
Of note, Joba Chamberlain pitched in relief for the first time this year and recorded a 1-2-3 inning...
Including the 2 home runs, Alex Rodriguez had 3 hits...Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon each had 2 hits...
The Yanks are off till Wednesday night, when they'll be facing either the Tigers or the Twins in the ALDS...CC Sabathia will be on the hill...
Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
