Yesterday in Tampa, Florida, Yankees ace CC Sabathia took the mound in search of his 20th victory of the season...instead he had perhaps his most forgettable performance in Pinstripes...
Sabathia only lasted 2 2/3 innings allowing 9 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits and 5 walks...again, very unlike the lefty ace...
The Yanks went on to drop the first game of this series against the Rays by a score of 13-4...
Additional Notes:
Brian Bruney and Phil Coke pitched an inning each of scoreless relief...Damaso Marte pitched 2
/3 of an inning of scoreless relief...Johnathan Albaladejo, Dave Robertson and Phil Hughes were not as effective in their relief stints...
Juan Miranda hit his first major league home run...
Tonight, Andy Pettitte will be on the hill...
Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
ESPN.com has Friday night's box score.
