Series Goes To Yanks!

The Yankees won the final game of a 4 game series with the A's today by a score of 7-5. The victory also gave the Yankees the series as they beat the A's 3 out of 4 games...

Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira hit run scoring singles in the 6th inning to spark the Yanks comeback from behind victory...With the win it gave them a 9-1 homestand--not bad!

Additional Notes:

Sergio Mitre started and pitched well enough to keep the Yanks in this one...he took a 4-3 lead into the 6th when he was relieved by Phil Coke...

Phil Hughes, Brian Bruney and Mariano Rivera pitched a combined 3 scoreless innings in relief...Rivera picked up his 29th save of the year...

Robinson Cano had a 3-run double...Derek Jeter had 2 hits including a 2-run single...Mark Teixeira had 2 hits...Cody Ransom had 2 hits...

Tomorrow the Yanks start a 3-game series against the Rays in Tampa...A.J. Burnett will be on the hill...
