Yanks Edge Oakland 3-2, Win Series

The Yankees finished up their 3 game series with the Oakland A's by defeating them 3-2, thanks in large part to Mark Teixeira who hit a 2 run home run and drove in all 3 runs for the Bombers...

The victory for the Yanks meant they took the series from Oakland 2 games to 1...

Next stop on the road trip: Boston!

Additional Notes:

Chad Gaudin pitched into the 5th when he got into trouble, loading up the bases...in 4 1/3 innings of work he allowed no runs on just 1 hit...

The bullpen held things together--Aceves had a little trouble, giving up 2 runs in 2 1/3 innings of work, but Phil Coke, Phil Hughes and Mariano Rivera didn't allow a run in their relief appearances...Mo picked up his 36th save of the year...

Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon had 2 hits each...

The Yanks are off today, but tomorrow they start a 3 game series against the Red Sox in Boston...Andy Pettitte will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
