Sabathia, Matsui Lead Yanks To Series Win In Boston

In Boston yesterday, Hideki Matsui belted 2 home runs against the Bosox and CC Sabathia bested rival Josh Beckett by pitching into the 7th innings allowing 4 runs (3 earned), as the Yankees beat the Red Sox 8-4...

For the Yankees, the victory was the 2nd this weekend against their arch rivals--another series win!


The Yanks are now in first place by 7 1/2 games over the Red Sox...

Additional Notes:

In addition to Matsui's 2 home runs, Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano and Alex Rodriguez also had a home run each...all off of Josh Beckett...

Jeter, Damon and Matsui each had 2 hits...
