Yankees Stumble In The 8th

CC Sabathia had pitched like the ace he was expected to be--for 7 innings at least...He allowed only 1 run, but then the 8th inning rolled around and with a tenuous 3-1 lead, Sabathia tired...By the time Girardi took him out in the 8th, Boston had scored another run, and with 2 runners on base...

And no one out...

Alfredo Aceves was asked to put out the fire...

He could not...

Boston scored 3 times in the frame, leading to a 4-3 victory over the Yanks...

And now the Pinstripes have dropped 8 in a row to their arch rivals...

Additional Notes:

The Yankees scored all their runs in the 7th when Francisco Cervelli doubled to drive in the first run and tie the game at 1-1 at that point...then Alex Rodriguez had a big 2-rbi double to give the Yankees a 3-1 lead...

Tomorrow the Yanks try to put the Boston debacle behind them as they open up a 3-game subway series at home against the Mets...

Joba Chamberlain will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!!!!!
