8 Wins In A Row For Bronx Bombers

For the 2nd straight day, the the Yankees offense pummeled Orioles pitching. The fireworks started early when Mark Teixeira doubled in a run in the first to give the Yanks a quick 1-0 lead...

Then in the 2nd, the bottom of the order unloaded in a way seldom seen...Nick Swisher, Robinson Cano and Melky Cabrera delivered back-to-back-to-back home runs and the Yanks led 4-0...

The Birds battled back, but in the 8th the Yankees pulled away...leading 5-3 at the start of the frame, by the time it ended, they scored 6 times on 2 walks, 4 singles, a double and a sacrifice fly...

The Yankees won 11-4 and ran their winning streak to 8 straight...

Additional Notes:

Phil Hughes turned in a solid--albeit short--effort, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings of work, while striking out 9...

The bullpen did its job, in particular Alfredo Aceves, who threw 2 scoreless innings in relief...

Tomorrow, the Yankees go for the sweep...Joba Chamberlain will be on the hill...

Let's Go Yanks!
