Yankees' Winning Streak Ends

The Yankees were going for their 6th straight win this Memorial Day in Baltimore. Too bad Garrett Olson of the O's had other ideas...Olson stymied the Yankee offense, allowing only 3 hits and no runs over 7 full innings...

Hard to believe this is the same lefty the Yankees knocked out in the 3rd at the Stadium last week...but that's baseball!

It's a shame Darrell Rasner had to take the loss for this one-he gave up only one run in 6 innings of work. It was another stellar performance for Rasner-at least he has secured himself a spot in the rotation for the foreseeable future-and much deserved...

Additional Notes:

The dearth of hitting notwithstanding, this one falls on the shoulders of the bullpen...Latroy Hawkins and Jose Veras were ineffective in the 7th-actually, that's being kind-they were simply awful, allowing a combined 5 runs...

The Yankees lost 6-1, but at least Rasner gave another quality start-it's the 4th one in a row for him...

Hideki Matsui continues his torrid hitting-in fact, he picked up 3 of the 5 Yankee hits on the afternoon...

Tomorrow we'll see if Ian Kennedy can put together two quality starts in a row, and the Yankees can get their offense going again...

Let's Go Yanks!
